Ingredients for 4 people:
- 500g of Pasta
- 2 cans of tuna (in its own juice)
- 2 pots of heavy cream
- juice of one lemon as well as the zest of one lemon
- chopped Italian parsley
- salt
First Step: Fill your pot with boiling water. Use about 1 liter/250g of pasta…
Second Step: Fill in your pasta and heavily salt the water. Calculate about 80-100g of pasta per person. But if your hungry, well then you should calculate a little more. Cook the pasta al dente which means “to have a bite to it” in Italian. To reach an al dente cook subtract one minute of the suggesteted cooking time on the package. (eg.: Cook Pasta for 10 minutes. That means that we… -that´s right- cook it for 9 minutes)
While the pasta is cooking we can start with the sauce…
Third Step: Fill the cream into a pot and add the tuna after you have emptied the cans so that the cream does not mix with fish juices. Salt for taste…
Fourth Step: Grade the zest of a lemon and then squeeze it for the juices baby. Add the zest and the juice to the sauce… (Sometimes you do not need all of the juice so be careful and always taste in between the steps.) And do not forget the capers, they add a nice texture to the sauce and another salty component which works very well with the light freshness of the lemon.
To finish the dish I can only recommend to chop up some Italian parsley. Add a little of it into the sauce for the looks and use the rest for garnishing your creation.
A super delicious summer dish that can be done in the matter of 10 minutes, which means your pasta cooking time. You do need a little bit of routine to do so but I believe in you… Plate it nice and enjoy the taste of Italy.
Until next time, Bruno
